new blog!

i said i'd update next only when i'm in the states but i'm blogging in advance, mainly about preps and flight details and stuff heh.

so head on over to http://cherffalo.blogspot.com for the ny blog!

Just as a kinda last note here, i've been playing with photoshop today! wheeee~ here are some fun results

First up, the not very noticeable diffs one... Can you spot the diffs?

I think this pic is abit tough to see what i've changed mainly coz the color i've edited so much heh.But i changed my hair color, eye color, face shape and slightly smoothened the skin. Heh

Here's the final product of the next round of experimenting lol don't get too shocked yea.

Shocking??? Doesn't look like me yea? Haha. You'll be even more shocked when u see the original pic!! Damn different. Here goes:

Woohoo.. Now you can compare and try to spot the diffs haha. The original pic on the left was from my prom. I first edited the skin, then eye color, then face shape.. Haha. Before editing the lighting, here's what it looked like:

Nice eh the eyes? Haha. Damn striking la. But totally don't look like me liao sian. Partly because i edited my right side of the face too much. Heh. Had to re-blur it to make it less obvious. After that, i started playing with colors to make the pic look dreeeaaammyyy. Haha. So here's the before n after:

Yup then after tt i decided to add highlights to the first edited pic (before color edit) and here's what it looks like!

haha. Subtle difference (in hair color) but quite cool eh? Photoshop rockssss. MAY post tutorial. Heh but no lah don't think I will.. Alright that's it for this blog! Go to the cherffalo one for more updates=))

teeeheeeheee

hey all =)

this is gonna be an ordinary event blog k =) fancy and interesting entries will come next time!

so the last time i blogged it was till the mani appt wit val... i think in the end we didn't mani, just hung around and chatted a lot =)) my kinda outing =) ate delicious stuff too =))

okays after tt, mon, tues, wed and thurs i went to sch... made it to all lessons on time =) So proud of myself=)) [i'm sure a lot of you are proud of me too! =D ]

okays then that night(Thurs) went to DXO to support shui coz it was the bash she organized =) many many thanks to kor for picking me frm my place then sending us back too! =D it was an ok event but i got 'drunk' after 2 measly housepours (we had like damn a lot of unlimited free drinks)... OMFG mannn So damn malu.. Then the guys were all like "lousy la u" kind.. Sian. =( But anws, pics are on facebook.. Go see. My face is damn red la. Stupid speed-drinking.

Hehe. Okays then friday no sch (i dropped ntr! =)) and so I went down to my tuition kid's school to pass her the cd of minus ones i burned for her for her singing competition =) I think a lot of you will know what i'm talking abt hehe. So sweet can coz the security guard dun let me in so she came out to see me then kept begging the security guard to let me in coz apparently her teacher said can.. But the security refused to grant me entry so yea I was like "it's ok" then my student was like all reluctant to leave but before she went back into her school she was like:

"Can I hug you?"

AWWWW! =)) Hahas i was like c'mere! hahas. Anyways then after tt met val, went for lunch (brought e 2 chipmunks along) at njc! Hahas. Funn! Then brought chipmunk back to her house, chatted wit her for pretty long and played wit her baby sister! Then went home!

Saturday was cool... Hahas. Met tong@bugis then went to the M5 place.. Talked to william, settled some stuff, then had a very interesting 1 hr music lesson!! Hahas. 18273645!!! 81726354!!! Wahahahha. GO BUY TOTO EVERYONE! Waahahah Then went home for dinner coz quite late le =(

Sunday was busyyyy.. I missed Church in the morn, then went to Toa Payoh for meeting at about 2pm, then dragged for a bit and i completely missed sitong's single pre-sale event! =( Boo. But I heard it was wildly successful so good on ya tong!! =) Hehs. After meeting I had to pia down for church... Then dinner wit family!

Monday after tt started out fine but HORRIBLE INCIDENT $(*&%#^%$#@ (UB ppl shd know) made me super pissed for the whole day (week/month/year)... Tsk. Anw then had tuition. Tues, Wed and Thurs were regular days, made it to all lessons on time (btw, no mean feat k coz my lessons are all morning lessons! 9am tt kind!) Hehes. Had cca on tues! And also had tuition as per normal!

Friday was a free day! (sorta) Sat was free but I went to church to attend mass so that I'd be free on Sun! It was the Children's Mass so very nice coz the kids are so super cute! I sat behind the Little Praisers (children's choir) and utterly enjoyed their chirpy sounds hehe.

Sunday! Slacked at home till it was time to meet val and head down to VCH to watch Hallelujah VIII! Hehes. It was really good, I liked the Warcrye of the Elfegens, the Disney Medley, the one composed by Benjamin Yeo (!) and one more I can't rmb off the top of my head. Hahas. The Saints' Alumni Band is a really tight band.. Got standard!! =) Met zhijia and liting... Had lotsa fun camwhoring hehe. After the concert val and I made our way to Marina Square.. Ate at Billy Bomber's (orgasmic!!) and then shopped minorly and cabbed home, all the while chatting to the nines!

Ok Monday! (yesterday!) Reached school on time, had tuition, went for meeting! Meeting ytd was damned good! I think we girls kinda bonded hahas. Laughing like crazy over a lotta stuff! Talking behind people's back, enjoying kolo mee, playing silly whiteboard games.. Zhi Shao Hai You Ni and Inside Your Heaven... And what was yvonne's? Haha anyways whatever it is, I'm looking forward to tomorrow(wednesday!) night's night of FUNNN =) And also the weekend's photoshoot!! Wheee~

Ok today!!! Yay I had a really great day today too! Made it to sch on time too! Cancelled tuition (first time this year) and stayed in sch after classes to study and chat wit annnnn~ Then we went down to the National Library for our Talk.. Super informative talk! Ann and I spent the whole day chatting and laughing and also being serious, but was good! Oh before the talk we shopped a bit at bras basah there - me & ann love the popular there! wahaha we're such dweebs. Anyways, long story short, it was a really great day!

Then yea after that got lotsa political stuff =( ohwells. I cannot say this enough: I will give you my opinion, and then if you insist on what you want, then I will give up. I think it's pretty obvious I've decided to let a lot of things go because in my opinion, things are already in an irreparable state. There's no use fighting over it. So y'all can do what you want. I will help if you need it, but yea, I won't exert my opinion over you guys anymore.

One thing though: You definitely don't want me to give up on other stuff (like sch projects or what haha) coz if I give up, i REALLY give up. Though it takes a lot to make me give up la. Goes to show. AAAaaanyways, I feel that at least now I can properly concentrate on my school stuff.. And NC stuff, and hosting duties etc =)

I'm broadening my horizons, spreading my wings! I've adopted LIB - Let It Be. It's in conjunction with IGU - I give Up! Hahahaha.

Anyways, a bit of thought blog here. Ann and I were talking and we felt that the UB education is seriously a very very very good one. I feel so enriched, well-read and deep after all these semesters! Hehes. Another thing we talked abt was something abt my financial background, which is interesting coz I have mentioned it a few times that I only realized I was in middle-upper class finance-wise when i went to JC. Yea. But I think my friends are getting the impression that my family is LOOOAAADED! We're not la. We're better off than most, but we're not using money to wipe our arses lol.

Speaking of which, remember something i blogged abt awhile back? Abt that extra fridge i discovered in the backyard? Well i asked my mom and realized what it's for le. It's my maid's personal fridge. $&%#@^!! I want a mini fridge in my room now. And a pair of skis please! Haha. Tsk la! It's huge leh that fridge. What a waste. hahas but ok la can understand why my maid needs one.

Enough $$ talk! I have one question for all of you who know what i'm talking about!!

THIS YEAR OR NEXT!?!?!?!

My parents have told me to submit the application for this yr liao.. But i haven't told them tt nx yr can.. so HOWW??

more interesting stuff...

now now, in a bid to make my blog more interesting... here's some MORE interesting stuff!!

Above is a video from Ellen Degeneres's Birthday show, where some of her celebrity guests decided to lip sync to Gloria Raynor's "I Will Survive".. I think it's super hilarious, especially the acts by David Spade, Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, Celine Dion, Queen Latifah and Heidi Klum... Haha! They're so obviously hamming it up for the cam!! The best part really is when Jamie Foxx does the sign language thing towards the end, and Queen+Celine doing their Diva thing, as well as Heidi's cluelessness at some parts wahaha. I also appreciated the appearances by Victoria Beckham and Paris Hilton, though it was kinda blah... AND not to forget, MASI OKA and that guy fro 30 Rock, (can't rmb his name) who did the "strong" thing by trying to flex his arm. Wahahhaa. Hilarious =)

Anyways, I've been listening to some super nice songs on my Ipod.. Haha. Will post up the lyrics of them up here really soon. Upcoming posts will include a tutorial on how to make the eyes bigger, which many people have been asking, as well as a full tutorial on how to touch up pics! =) Another thing I'm gonna update on is an interesting feature which I think you guys will really like, so yea, keep reading! Hahahahah

(prev post was too dastardly xiaxue for my liking. I sincerely apologize) wahahah. I sound so much like xx! Ohwells

Till the next time, toodles!~

cherlynn the (photoshopped) goddess!

heyyyy

have a lot of things to update you guys about but... some people (ahem, elves) complained during COM125 tt my blog entries are tooooo long so they (ahem, HE) don't bother to read...

and I've also noticed that many of my friends can't be bothered to read parts of my blog that don't mention them..

so here comes a really INTERESTING blog entry for y'all to enjoy! (and it's short too!)

Well today I was just reading GoFugYourself when i saw a video about Plastic Surgery without Plastic Surgery.. Basically skills on how to change ur look using makeup... Then I looked at more makeup videos on youtube and chanced upon a Photoshop Makeover video... Well the ones on Youtube are really fast so you can't really learn how to do it there but I've had quite some experience editing pics so I decided to try out one for myself! =)

Here's my V first attempt (ok not v first one, but first serious one) at changing my face wit Photoshop! =)

From the pic on the left to the pic on the right! =)

Wahahah I think I did a pretty good job alright! Ok here's a bigger look at the original (WARNING: VERY FUGLY) picture!

Ehhs... It's pretty damn gross. Let's identify the glaringly wrong things in this pic!

1) BAD BAD SKIN!!! Oily and rough! And eyebags!
2) Slightly yellow and very uneven teeth! And vampire teeth!
3) uneven eyes!

Ok that's just what's glaringly wrong! Hahas. Alright items 1 and 2 are pretty easy to fix... Just some painting over will do. Voila! Here's the finished product after even-ing out the skintone and getting rid of the eyebags, as well as some touching up of the teeth!

Alright... Sliiiiightly better... (PS click on pics to see original size!) At least it's not cringeworthy like just now! However, something is still GLARINGLY wrong! The grossly small and unequally sized eyes! So I went to make some changes (ventured into unfamiliar territory le!) and voila! Here it is:

HUGE BAMBI EYES LA! Omfg. This was very very poorly done =( sorry guys haha. My first attempt nia so you gotta be kinder on me k. I also accidentally did something very minor to the nose... Not obvious... Oh and also twitched the left side of the mouth (MY left, as in, the ME in the pic) a bit (by accident! and cldn't find the UNDO option)

This one was baddd all the more coz i had to edit the friggin irises and also the pupil of the right eye (again, MY right) You will notice that the eyes really look weird (right eye is 'leaking' at the bottom near tear ducts, left iris is really wonkily shaped)

However, I didn't really wanna bother much abt that.. For a first attempt, I wasn't gonna be all perfectionist on myself lol.

Another edit in this picture was the hair.. I basically smoothed it out and made it neater=)

So yea! I was done! I did some effects and came up with the below 2 pictures!

Moderate styling

Elaborate! For display pics and profile pics!=)

Hahas. Interesting NOT? I am so going to meddle with all my pics from now on to brush up my technique=) Want a tutorial? Simply tag!

Lots more to update about but dun wanna BORE you guys out. Ciao all see y'all soon!

ahhh

crikey... super a lot of things to update abt =( but first things first! I've a joke to share wit y'all and i''m not sure if all of you will get it coz i didn't for about 10 seconds. haha

Mason vs. Dixie

A University of Georgia student was visiting a Yankee relative in Boston over the holidays. He went to a large party and met a pretty co-ed. He was attempting to start up a conversation with the line, "Where does you go to school?"

The coed, of course, was not overly impressed with his grammar or southern drawl, but did answer his question. "Yale," she replied.

The Georgia student took a big, deep breath and shouted, "WHERE DOES YOU GO TO SCHOOL?"

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

Get it not??? Yale in southern drawl = YELL. ahahahahahahha =)

Aye, will update later! needa toilet!

awesome day in all!!!

yay! had a great day today (wed 090108)

first, siyingzi came to my house then we went to the gym and worked out a bit... it was a light workout but a workout nevertheless ok! then after i bathed and stuff, (cancelled tuition) we went to Bukit Panjang plaza, had our meesua (n sat at LJS so ordered a combo 1 to share) then walked around... I bought my new mouse, and a new memory card for my hp! We also went to popular to look for assessment books...

then oh yah, we ran into ah seet (huitze) and her bf at bukit panjang plaza too hahas chatted for a short while.

then, armed with lots of vouchers and giftcards from xmas, i headed to town to meet ann... Was early so hung around Borders for awhile picking books to buy... Wah tell ya, I totally melted at the fiction section la... DAMN LARGE + GREAT COLLECTION LAH!!! Sigh.. How i wish my library was like that. Sigh... Anw, i bought a book called The Terror... Set in the 1800s... Hopefully I'll love it hehe.

Kays then ann arrived and we went shopping!!! Haha I was like, aiming to buy a nice cardigan by the end of the day so yea we headed off looking! But first! I also aimed to buy a book to teach myself Italian at Kino (another place I had vouchers for) so yea went there! Then when I was browsing the Italian language books and ann was looking for her "Northern Lights" Book (dunno even if it exists LOL =Pp) this old man came up and he was like "Learning Italian?" and totally launched into which books are good, where to take courses etc.. He's some doctor, pretty well established i think then yea v interesting =) Talk talk talked... Funny though, i must have some radar that alerts ppl to my presence or sth coz I've been getting into these freaky situations where random strangers like to just ask me things =(( It really weirds me out... Scares me too!! Haha I'm the queen of paranoia rmb!? =) Anw yea! I bought a book called Painless Italian =) When i'm done with this book I wanna pick up the Schaum(n) one =)) WHeeeee~ Can't wait!

Ok then we went for dinner at Central Cha Caan Teng... Yayy =) I had the Instant Noodles with Fried Egg and Luncheon Meat!!!! SHIOOOKKKK =)) Ann had porkchop with instand noodles! =) Then we shared a (freaking delicious) Lime Juice with Sourplum and a mango sago cream =) But too bad leh all the cold stuff made ann have tummyache so we went toilet.. Then in the end shop shop shop and realized we vv auntie hahaha. Ok la me la hor. Haha. We had a lotta fun just chatting like xiao! Hahahahas. TEEE OHHH TEEE OHHH hahahaha i am not gonna say anything. Anyways, finally bought my cardigan and ann bought a gorgeous red one too!! =) Then after tt i also bought a pair of shorts at Cotton On. Woohoo

Great day all in all =) But loooong day. Another long day ahead!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ytd was an alright day =) Did my 2 tuitions, supposed to meet Bina but she had an apptmt she forgot abt lol so cldn't meet up.. Then had cca.. Hahas long time no cca le so yea weird! haha. i think a lot of misunderstandings happened la so as again, i don't like to explain my behavior, so you all can speculate all you want.

After cca, tong tai an me gerald and william went for dinner! We chatted like xiao and damn funny!!! Hahahahahhas. Yay

Then at night talked to tong on phone then had super long talk on phone wit val! wahahahahaha!!! we went utterly mad la!! "Once upon a time..." haha. I will update y'all abt this soon. Think we chatted till 5am!?!? wtf. whhahaha. *dream noises* LOL

batu pahat X2

hahas hey ppl!

i'm backk

didn't shop much today - coz spent 4 hours rebonding hair!! OMG man the rebonding was so super cheap! In Singapore the cheapest i could find was S$100 for whole head rebonding (with treatment and cut) but in Batu Pahat, the one we did today cost RM100 for the exact same thing!!!!! Which is equivalent to about S$47!!!

Totally saved a lotta money. Then stocked up on my ultimate FAVE tao sar pia! =) And bought more slippers for myself =)

Parents were funny again la.

Off to pia work now! Byeeee~

extravagance...

is extravagance a way to avoid income tax or sth?

whatever it is, i think i'm kinda TOO oblivious to what's happening in the house... A few months (or so) back, I noticed that something was being moved to our backyard but i didn't really go see. I only vaguely recall thinking it's an extra storage cupboard or sth...

I just went down to the backyard and realized, it's a whole other frigging fridge! my fridge is already so huge, wth do we need another fridge for?? I opened it and there's like, just some ice in the freezer and some dried goods in the lower one.

Now I'll feel better abt asking my parents for a new lappie. AND PRINTER. Pfft.

Anyways, batu pahat tml! =) Yayness. And i'm having probs wit d gb script for nc =( Bleah.

wheeeeeee~~

yay! =) had a fun day today =)

went out to meet MESC at Fareastplaza =) Had my haircut, then we shopped for a bit.. I bought 3 tee shirts!! =) I have a heckuva lotta t-shirts now man =( Anw, i totally need to get rid of my irritating back-fat.. XYZ!!! Gymming starts Tuesday! =)

Anws, we shopped, then braved the rain to get to the MRT station, then shopped a bit more at Toa Payoh hub area, then went to tong's hse and mj-ed a lot! Lost quite a bit of money to midhelle then after she left, tong myself and eunice continued playing sanka haha... Recouped my losses so in the end i think i earned abt what, 10cents.. LOL

Yuppps =) And ate my fave cake today - Bengawan Solo's Chocolate Gateau!!! Hehe coz it was tong's mom's bday heh.

nothing much le =) I've had a great few days, time to spend tml pia-ing my work (NC stuff) hahas. YAY see you guys soon! =) Batu Pahat on Monday!!!! =D Anyone wanna join me??

Went to Anchorpoint to deposit the cheque and eat and chat! =) I bought a new pair of capri-like shorts... Yayyy I quite love em! It's my ideal length and they're so comfy!! =)) Whee~ After tt I headed down for tuition and came home! =)

Yea well then I spent a great deal of time reading Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult. I'm super tempted to buy a heckuva lotta her books now! She's really quite good. Her storyline is very compelling.

Meeting MESC tml and getting my hair cut too! =) whee~ Ciao people

uhm.. celine dion?

Just a song that's going round and round in my head:

Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

-------------------------------------------------------------------

blogggg

ahh.. i'm starting to like blogging lol

anw, i just watched Bee Movie. IT'S GREAT =) Super nice. My kind of cartoon =) I love all the satire esp at the beginning =)

Event blog: For today - went out wit val to IMM and had a pedi done while she had a mani done! I quite love this place so i think i shall be back there soon! Hehe. Gonna do a paraffin wax mani nx! Yay. Val and I had lunch, and yummmmy dessert, and chatted a hell lot, which was great! Mini shopping and killer cramps also made appearances. Haha.

Then went to meet bina and yvonne and yufen for NC Meeting! =) And finalized some issues and stuff and yay! Have new deadlines etc. Hahas.

I just realized that I'm really quite capable of stuff just tt I needa be pushed to do it. SOOO.. I can actually finish a fic as long as I have someone to push me to do it! And I volunteer VAL for this! VAL! Wanna help me finish my first fic? The plan is easy. I've got to meet you every week with a new chapt ready as well as plans for the next chap! =) Of course at the first meeting I tell you the whole plot line and all. Whaddya think, bitch? I think it's perfect! And I could do the same for YOU and your fics!! WIN-WIN Situation!! YAYYY I'm suitably excited. Val say yes pls! Haha.

Alrighty anw apart from tt, hmm I think i spent New Year's Eve packing up my room =) Mainly my table la and it was just totally unplanned. I started off trying to pack one pile of books, then moved on to one drawer and in the end, totally cleared my desk and 3 of my 4 drawers and 1 of my desk cupboards! I feel totally accomplished. Ppl who've seen my table in all its messy glory will be pleased to see it now =) All neat and clear and all =) YAY. I love my table now!

Other events tt i have not yet blogged about: XMAS @ Mich's XMAS with fam Xmaseve wit fam, CampusReporter, and lots of stuff before tt! It's all lost because i didn't write everything down in my organizer =( Oh wells.. I rmb there was meeting up wit Bina, Val, some shopping, urgh... Can't think! It's too early in the morn!

Anyways, think I'm going clubbing nx Wed (090108)... Join us! Mich! It's MAMBO NIGHT! Hahas. But shui & I dun wanna mambo so we'll be trying to squeeze into PHUTURE. Hahas. Wanna come along let me know ok!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Charity work: I'm thinking of reading to kids at children's homes? And perhaps organizing trips? Anyone wanna help?

Gym: XYZ! Anytime! Starting in 2 days (coz i'm having my stupid period) ok! =) Msg me?

OH YAH. Forgot to blog abt how accomplished I've been feeling the past month (December).. Haha. Results were out and I did pretty well (again, except for freaking SOCI which i totally don't understand coz I did ok the entire sem)... 2As and 2A-s and stupid C+ or C- ( i can't rmb) for SOCI =(( Thank goodness it's not a comms mod. Anw i might wanna retake COM240 or COM101 to make my GPA better. Apparently it's the combined GPA of the COMMS mods that are taken into consideration (granted u already have min 2.7 GPA for everything) for Honors. I screwed up 2 comms mods so far - 101 and 240... So yea We'll see how i do for the rest first.

Yea then apart from tt, I've been feeling accomplished about WORK too! =) Putting up NC was really satisfying... As I've said, it's really coz of the meetings and all that gets me on my ass to do work and get the stuff up so yea =) YAY. And also, I'm proud of myself for a lot of other work that's been done, AND not overspending during Dec (until the Xmas season, during which I just blew out damn lots of money on gifts haha)

So yea, I really wanna repeat my performance. Here's a jiayou to myself! =) Hehe.

Can't wait to see you guys soon =)

continuing...

hey darlings!

i'm gonna continue with the awards =)

the addition of cable and the availability of shows through TV-VIDEO has made this a pretty good year tv-wise =)

TOP 10 TELEVISION PROGRAMMES of 2007

10) Princess Princess (Youtube) - ahhhh haha this japanese anime series was really good and utterly hilarious go find it on youtube! =)

9) The Ellen Show (Star) + The Oprah Show (Hallmark) - very amazing content on both these daytime television shows. I like Ellen's quirkiness and Oprah's power with the people and just all the kind of stuff they put on their shows =) The people they interviewed etc! I really liked the ones where Oprah showed the plastic surgery addicts, the rats of America with like the most filthy houses etc and also the corinne bailey rae one! As for ellen, pretty much every episode makes me feel really good. =)

8) Haunted Houses (Discovery) - This show checks out some of the haunted houses in America and finds out what the story is. Super my kinda show and super intriguing. Discovery keeps its usual style - making everything sound factual and all. Awesome. Loads of Discovery channel stuff was really good like the Flight Disasters ones, the Giant Structures ones.. yea haha

7) Hana Kimi (Channel U) - OMG you guys shd know how much I loved this show =) Utterly loved it. Fantastic cast and storyline hehe =)

6) Ugly Betty (Star) - Story about an ugly journalist? Man oh man, totally MY story! Hahaha. I love this show's plotline, and the bitches and all so hahas yea this show rocked =)

5) Ghost Whisperer (Ch5) - I LOOOOOOOOOVE this show!! Totally! The plot is gripping right now and I'm totally waiting for Season 3 to air!! Really really amazing. I like Supernatural too and sadly it didn't make the list but oh man, Ghost Whisperer was really really good =) Amazing stuff, amazing run!

4) CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY (AXN) - I love the whole series of CSI! Horatio, Grissom and i forgot the last guy's name haha but woooweee i love this show! And there's a lot of eyecandy too =) i love how all the stories unfold and how they eventually find out who the killer is etc ROCK ON! =D

3) Prison Break (TV-VIDEO) - I really really love this story and how it all develops etc.. However, the killing off of Sara Tancredi really just made the whole show suck for me. And putting Mike back into prison, especially at Sona. Just seems so weird. Oh wells. Let's hope they get better.. And they should really finish up the story soon. I am so NOT interested in finding out how he and 'Molly' like each other or who is gonna play Molly. I just want Sarah Wayne Callies back. Sigh.

2) HEROES ( TV-VIDEO) - LALALA totally WORTH THE WAIT. Season 2 rocks balls!!! =) I can't wait for it to get back and just GIVE US MORE PEOPLE!!!! RAWR. I really can't wait. This show is ROCKIN-AWESOME

1) FRIENDS (DVD) - Thanks to Vita for the DVDs!!! =) I really love this series =) Awesome, touching, hilarious every episode, emotive, just works! Totally LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOWW! =)

It was titled "Dress in the Corporate World - How the way you dress can affect your chances at scaling the corporate ladder" Awwww.. Really loved it. it's that time again...

hey people!!

as we hurtle towards the beginning of the new year, let's take a little bit of time to recap and give thanks for what happened this past year of 2007! =) Here go the annual CherAwards! (Trying to make this a tradition and let's see if it works! hehe)

I'll start with all the non-friend-related stuff first so that it'll force you all to read them hahaha. Better read!

PS - these refer to things that i've watched/read/listened to IN 2007.. Doesn't mean they came out during 2007 k! hehe
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOP 10 SONGS OF 2007

10) Zhuan Shu Tian Shi (Tank) - mainly coz of Hana Kimi, this song tended to make me cry! Haha it's super sweet.

9) For the Love (Drew Sidora and Mario) - from Step Up the movie! This song is a really beautiful ballad that again, tugs at the heartstrings.

8) Say It Right (Nelly Furtado) - kind of a break out track for Ms Furtado I think! This song is really catchy and danceworthy! Along with this song i'd also give kudos to Maneater (which is really da BOMB) and Glow, and All Good Things (Come to an end)

7) Candyman (Christina Aguilera) - OMG utterly loved this track! Very sixties and bigband and all! I'm not good at identifying genres but I really love how this track sounds. It's not higher on the board coz of its difficulty to sing! The harmonies are OOOOHLALA~ Gosh you really gotta love Xtina haha. Her voice is utterly awesome!

6) Last Night (P. Diddy feat Keyshia Cole) - ahhhh this song.. Tough fight coz I wanted to put this song higher up but too bad coz.. well you'll see why later. Anw, i utterly love this song coz of it's beautiful drum rhythm. Dum ta ta dum ta ta dum ta dum dum etc. Super nice and super super "I-WANNA-GET-UP-AND-DANCE-AND-GO-CLUBBING-NOWWW" kind! I kept it on my ipod playlist for the longest time possible and it's my current hp ringtone. I really like this one! =)

5) Love Stoned + What Goes Around (Justin Timberlake) - reason why Last Night has to go below is coz JT is holdin the fort here at 5! He released quite a number of good songs this year, the most significant of which being What Goes Around, My Love and most recently i think, Love Stoned and Damn Girl. Love Stoned is a really really really nice track tell ya! And What Goes Around was just freaking great to listen to and sing to! As are My Love and Damn Girl =) Rockin' songs =)

4) Gimme More + Piece Of Me (Britney Spears) - this woman came back with a vengeance!! I really really like Piece of Me - damn catchy tune. And Gimme More was no 1 on the billboards for a reason. I like Britney's sort-of-new sound. Piece of Me is really really just so catchy and danceworthy =)

3) I Like You Just the Way You Are ( Timbaland ft Keri Hilson) - OOOH. New song but i so love this song! The chorus reheeeaaally rocks! It's awesomely catchy (is there nothing else I know how to say?) and I like Timbaland's tracks a LAWT.

2) Makes Me Wonder + Won't Go Home Without You (Maroon 5) - this band utterly amazed me this year! These 2 are wonderful tracks from a stellar album and i'm looking forward to more singles from them! M5've totally outdone themselves - and you thought She Will Be Loved and Sunday Morning were good, THINK AGAIN! haha. I'm expecting more from them man! And I especially love the MTVs. Gorgeous work. Plus, Adam Levine is YUMMM! Hehe

and drumrolll......

1) BE WITHOUT YOU (MARY J BLIGE) - one word - FANTASTIC. Mary J Blinge deserves her awards for this.

---------------------------

TOP 10 MUSIC ARTISTES for 2007

This list was relatively easier to compile, lol. Here goes:

10) Jay Chou - He keeps coming up with new stuff that is just so great to listen to. Too bad it wasn't anything too spectacular or he'd have placed way higher!

9) Show Luo Zhi Xiang / Jolin Tsai - I think Jolin came up with a great album chock full of danceworthy tracks earlier this year. Xiaozhu gets placed because he's a darned sleek dancer and apparently, darned hard worker. And I like his sense of humor lol.

8) Britney Spears - From what I've heard so far, her comeback album is pretty cool! Kudos for coming back with a BAM! If she could only clean up her act... haha

7) Fergie - I think fergie did a great job this year with lots of great songs (I loved them all though none of them were good enough on their own to make it into my top 10) I liked Fergalicious, Glamorous, the Make-Up Song (All that I got) and of course, Big Girls Don't Cry.. Being a BEP alumnus sure makes your music sound good huh. Hahas

6) Justin Timberlake - I've always like this guy's music. And this year has seen quite some of them! What Goes Around, My Love, Damn Girl, Love Stoned, Give It To Me (with Nelly F and Timbaland) and quite some more that I don't really remember. I poofed his entire LoveSounds/FutureSex album. It was pretty awesome =) He always has a keen sense of musical direction which is usually quite coherent in his albums. Pap-beating brought him down though. And Jessica Biel.

5) Rihanna - Oh this girl had it MAAAADE this year! Smash hit Umbrella and its weeks on the top of the billboards made it the reigning Summer Anthem of 2007 and placed it alongside the ranks of songs like Yeah! and Shake Ya Tail Feather etc! There's like, a magic song every year and Umbrella was THE song of 2007! Totally. Rihanna is a great girl too, nice character and all, from what I see on MTV.. And tracks like Shut Up and Drive and Unfaithful are pretty good too but not good enough to pull her up to the top 4 of my list...!

4) Gwen Stefani - Yeah her name was glaringly absent from my top 10 songs huh! That said, Gwen also had an amazing year, what with The Sweet Escape and Don't Get It Twisted as well as Early Winter. I also poofed her whole album and was rewarded with fantastic fantastic songs. I liked all of them, which is pretty rare when it comes to me and albums. Add to that the fact that her songs have VERY HIGH re-listening value..! Imagine listening to songs like Cool, Luxurious, Rich Girls etc again! You know you're just dying to sing all of em again!! Gwen Stefani is an awesome artiste with great music. So there!

3) Nelly Furtado - I must really applaud this lady. She managed to reinvent herself perfectly with a new sound and all. Maneater, Say It Right, All Good Things (Come to an end), Glow.. All are songs from a really amazing new album released this year and they're all really awesome! Good job on taking something different, new and foreign and making it WORK! *applauds*

2) Maroon 5 - I've got lots of love for this band. They wow-ed me with Makes Me Wonder, making me sit up and listen to them with this song, showing that they can do something different. While She Will Be Loved and Sunday Mornings and other tracks from Songs About Jane were really fantastic, Makes Me Wonder was just breathtakingly GOOOOD. Then the hubbub died down and all was kinda just forgotten. And who knows, I turn the channel to MTV one day and there goes Won't Go Home Without You - another song that just got into my head after just ONE listen! Very little songs do that, and Maroon 5 is proving they ain't just a one-album wonder. GO!!! (and yea Adam Levine is HAWT)

now drumrolllll......!!!

1) TIMBALAND - I have got SO MUCH respect for this guy. He remade Nelly Furtado, gave JT's tracks amazing arrangements, then brought the 2 together to give us a wonderful song Give It To Me. Then he went on to record I Like You Just The Way You Are with Keri Hilson, which was just another fantastic song. This year I found myself on the lookout for songs that had his name on it, and I just KNEW he was this year's Number 1 music artiste man. His arrangements really give an amazing edge to the music that makes it just super danceworthy and all. Yea ok enough gushing. Lol

Honorable mention: Chris Brown (Wall-to-Wall!), Leona Lewis (Bleeding Love!!!!), Gary Cao (beipan!), 5566 (SAM WANG!!!)

can't stop myself

i was re-reading my blog archives and was just about to turn in when the things i'd blogged about kept nagging at me. I got out of bed and came here to blog a whole truckload of thought-blog.. My fingers are frozen but i've gotta keep going.

if you'll look beyond the surface, you may be pleasantly surprised
if you look into the deceitful facade, you may be disillusioned
if you'll take my hand, i'll show you the way home
if you walk with her, she'll swallow you whole
if I could turn back time, I would have said yes
if I could turn back time, I should not have spoken.

yet "time and tide wait for no man"
and my heart has already been broken
you are different now - so distant
and distance myself must I.

------------------------------------------

that's just a really odd poem-thing with no proper scantion or rhyme scheme. It's more like a rambling. Anyways, don't think too much about it. It's only going to mean something to me. It's about 2 different issues so don't assume.

Anyways, I really just wanted to blog about my friends again.. This time with a focus on 2 people. Here goes:

ANN

Heya darling. I was reading in a long ago post how you were a really great friend but as we hadn't had a long history I didn't wanna say too much. Well, now after about 1 and a half years together, I just wanna say I LOVE YOU =)

I remember when I first met you dear - in the lift going for the orientation talk. You were with your parents, I was with mine. I remember looking at you and thinking not-too-pleasant but also not-hostile thoughts. Haha. Anyways, we only became friends on the first day of school at the first lecture, when we got together (you were sitting with ngee ann and I was alone coz I was late) to do the COM101 class assignment. We didn't hit it off right away, but we became fast acquaintances =)

Then maddie and evy joined us for psy project and the inevitable and monumental coming together of CAME happened. After awhile we became so tight that we were really just recognized as the 4 of us.

After the prev sem, I really feel so much closer to you dear. Though we hadn't had as much time to talk together during the semester, what with the crazy workload and all, I really feel that through working together as much as we did, and having so many proj meetings, discussions, and some heart-to-heart talks, I really feel like we've bonded. I mean, before that I'd already seen you as my UB Bestie, and really my closest friend in all of UB, and along wit evy and maddie as well as other friends I made along the way like Yarn, Elves, Rah, Vita, Helpful(Psychotic), Ashton, William and all, I felt blessed to have quite a bunch of friends in UB le. I'm most fortunate, however, to have found a friend in you dear. You really rock my world.

Though it's only been a short 15+ months, I found myself having a lot of faith and trust in you. You're really a generous and selfless person, thoughtful and sensitive and very cartoon sometimes! lol! You're a great listener and so concerned about your friends. I really really really treasure you as a friend dear =) And i'm so shocked to find such a good friend in UNI, where I wasn't really expecting to make any fast friends at all! Especially not one I trust and love so much =)

Memories:
- during a particular com240 lecture-
me: ask you arh *proceeds to draw diagram on paper*... if you were standing here, and this person (blahblahblah)
ann: *cocks head to one side*why are you asking such a question? *mischievous glint in eye*
me: *blushing furiously* no no i'm just curious!!
ann: you sure not! why (i can't rmb exactly what) ...
me: *protesting* no no i mean like, any normal person would..??
ann: ok la, if it were me, i would just move

me+ann : laughing quietly. hahaa

*chats in your car
*staying up to pia com317
*you turning up to support all my performances
*hugging each other when the security guard found my hard drive (!!!)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the memories anndear. Here's to many more wonderful ones! =)

BINA (BETTINA)

BINANANANANANANNA. Like seriously one of my newest newest brand-spanking-newEST friends!!! I only met her like what, May this year? And through another friend somemore! Never expected to become close friends with her but hey! I'm really surprised I found another good friend!

Besides sharing similar interests - shopping, webdesign, singing, good food, money troubles, hypocrite friends etc, Bina and I have a lot of same views AND same habits! Hahhaha. We realized this like a couple of weeks ago that we totally are like the same person. Our day starts at approximately 230pm in the afternoon, and we sleep at approximately 4am. Lol. OH and we share the same fondness and weakness for CABBING. Wahahahaha

I must say, when I first met Bina I didn't know whether we would click or hit it off, but after that first shopping trip, MANNNNN. We just totally gush about the same stuff the same way. It's so awesome.

Another thing I really like about Bina is how genuine she is! She's really v straightforward. Some things I can't mention but yea! Totally enjoy your company babe.

While we're still really new friends and don't meet up VERRRYY often, I'd like to say that I totally can foresee being fast friends for reeeeaaaalllyyyy long with my BINANANA! hahaha! =) Totally LOVES~ man.

Memories:

*jinxing each other while hailing for cab
*sitting in yvonne's office being very awed
*countless times sharing cab home tgt (bina stays at cashew area!! =))
*bina calling me and when I answered, she said "Hello? Bina!?" LOLOL Hilarious shit! Then proceeded to say "I mean, Bina here!" LOLOL
*shopping!!!

I <3 U BINANANA!=) Here's to many many years ahead! =D

School Visit

After delivering a speech at an elementary school, the president lets the kids ask a few questions. One little boy, Joe raises his hand and asks, “How come you invaded Iraq without the support of the United Nations?”

Just as the president begins to answer, the recess bell rings and he says they’ll continue afterward. 25 minutes later the kids come back to class.

“Where were we?” says the president. “Oh, yes... do you kids have any questions?”

Another boy raises his hand and says, “I have three questions: First, why did you invade Iraq without support from the U.N.? Second, why did the recess bell go off 30 minutes early? And third, where is my buddy Joe?”

----

Haha this one just reminds me of PrisonBreak with all the government conspiracies and all. LOL

What would you do - Shay's story.

Two Choices

What would you do?....you make the choice. Don't look for a punch line,
there isn't one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled
children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would
never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its
dedicated staff, he offered a question: 'When not interfered with by
outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot
understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, physically
and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other
people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?'
Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like
Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were
allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not
expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for
guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but
was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a
glove andplayed in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he
was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was
scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win
the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold
the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that
the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life,
moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make
contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The
pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards
Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game. Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams
started yelling, 'Shay, run to first! Run to first!' Never in his life had
Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down
the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!' Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it
to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right
fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's
intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the
third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the
runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'
Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to
help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third! Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!' Shay ran to
home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the
grand slam and won the game for his team.
'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face,
'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and
coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOTNOTE TO THIS STORY: We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate. The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you're thinking about forwarding this message, chances are
that you're probably sorting out the people in your address book who aren't the 'appropriate' ones to receive this type of message. Well, the
person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference. We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the
'natural order of things.' So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice: Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least
fortunate amongst them.

You now have two choices:
1. Delete
2. Forward
May your day, be a Shay Day.

--------

This one is so so sweet. *sighs*
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This next one is bittersweet - the kind of romance stories i'm super into nowadays lol

There was once this guy who is very much in love with his girl. This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl.

Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company, his future didn't seem too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualize any future for the
both of them, so they went their own ways there and then...

Heartbroken, the guy agreed. But when he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make some! thing out of himself.

Finally with all the hard work and the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company ..

You never fail until you stop trying. One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realize they were his girl's parents.

With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same any more; he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He made it! What he saw next confused him, the couple was
walking towards a cemetery, and so he got out of his car and followed...and he saw his girl, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone and he saw his paper crans right beside her...

Her parents saw him. He asked them why this had happe! ned. They explained, she did not leave for France at all. She was ill with cancer. She had believed that he will make it someday, ut she did not want to be his obstacle... therefore she had chosen to leave him.
Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. She had wanted her parents to put his paper cranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again...he can take some of those
back with him...

Once you have loved, you will always love. For what's in your mind may escape but what's in your heart will remain forever.

The guy just wept...The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside her knowing you can't have her, see her or be with her ever again.........hope you understand.

Find time to realize that there is one person who means so much to you, for you might wake up one morning losing that person who you thought meant nothing to you.

GACK! So sad man =(
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, been watching old movies lately.. Watched Peter Pan on CH5 when it aired recently... OMG THAT SHOW IS SO SWEEEEEEEET i cried so much i finished half a box of tissue. I'm really just a total sucker for sappy sad stuff. They really changed the story a lot. I remember listening to the story at night when I was young, before drifting off to sleep. It was so magical and exciting, but the movie portrayed it as a mini-romance kinda thing. SUPER SUPER TOUCHING! I always suspected there was something going on with Wendy and Peter. Lol. Anyways, it was just so cute I can't stop gushing about it.

Next day i watched I Am Legend starring the one and only Will Smith! Another fantastic show! Kinda similar to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later but omg super nice! Will Smith is HOTTT! =) But anw I got kinda creeped out by the show so I searched for a happier movie to watch and tried to watch Bee Movie but the streaming sucks. Anws, I tried watching Mr. Bean's Holiday and found it all a bit tiresome so I only watched about half of it...

Today I watched Enchanted! So so so lovely and sweet! Though I can't imagine Patrick Dempsey(?) as anything other than McDreamy, it still really worked=) The singing in the show was pretty good, typical Disney fare. Especially the silly song "True Love's Kiss". Really cheesy but super catchy at the same time! Reminds me of Snow White's "Someday My Prince Will Come" Whahaha.. Oh man. I'm such a Disney Kid. I grew up on stuff like Cinderella, Snow White, Dumbo, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and more! Lol. I had the videos, the books, the book-on-tape etc.. The whole package man. LOL. But anw, I really enjoyed the movie!

I actually have more to blog about! Like how I found this store that sells GORGEOUS GORGEOUS BAGS (at last!) and bought myself another bag... Now I have two new bags (bought one after meeting yvonne and yufen on the 21st) in similar colors and material. LOL. Oh an I have a new hp.. Back to Nokia baby!! Yay! Can finally use music as my ringtone again! Wooohooo.

Will stop the blogging for now heh. Enjoy, guys! =)

reformed..!

hey people =) be prepared for a verrryyy looooong thought-blog entry today =)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently went through a very serious renewal of faith that gave me another new outlook on life and how I was living it.

Before this incident, I thought I was alright as it was. I followed (haphazardly) the laws of the Lord, trying my best not to speak ill of others, not to bear hostile feelings towards people. While I kept to it, managing to not speak ill of 95% of the people I knew, there were still cases where I lapsed and bitched about people.. At the time I thought it could be condoned, it was alright to speak ill of these people because to me they deserved it.

I tried my best to give these people the benefit of the doubt etc, but there really came some times when I just couldn't because to me, what they did was utterly unpardonable. Whatever it was though, I never spoke ill of people that did me no harm... I was only incensed to bitch about people who were really testing my patience.. Apart from these people (very select few, lol.. you guys know roughly who la..) I kept my mouth to myself (to coin a phrase) and really didn't speak bad abt anyone. I removed myself so much that I couldn't really be bothered to speak badly of them la. In fact my first impression of people (after getting to know them) is usually that they are nice/good etc.. [ and some of my friends find me naive for that haha ]

Recent events were making me really upset about certain people... I felt utterly betrayed and all but anyways, that's all over. The point is, at a time when I felt very insecure and all, I just happened to pick up this book at Popular while shopping for assessment books for my tuition kids.. It's titled 32 True Stories of Ghosts Spirits & Gods by Andrew Tan... Given my liking for material based on supernatural happenings, this book drew me to it inexplicably. I read the synopsis (?) and was so intrigued by it that I brought it with me all the way to the cashier, having no intention to buy it at all.

I'm not the kind to buy this kind of books (compilation) coz they don't have a lot of re-read value so I was planning to ditch it before it was my turn to pay. Suddenly, however, this guy in front of me in the queue turned around and asked me if I had the Popular card. I said no, and expected him to leave me alone. Super surprisingly, he said he had one and told me to use his after he had paid. I was really stunned so I didn't respond, I just looked shocked with my mouth slightly ajar. Then he was like, "do you understand what I mean?" and I was all like (stammering) "Er er... y..yes... b..but... er, WHY???"

Lol. I practically screamed WHY at him, with my eyes open as big as they could lol. Kinda a frightening image haha. But anw, he just said, no lah just helping etc. Some kinda weird answer but sounded alright so I accepted his offer.. For a moment i thought I was on Gotcha! (I'm kinda paranoid that way) but he paid, then passed me his card, then i paid and he waited while i was paying, then i returned his card..

Anyway, the point of this whole story is, after he offered to lend me his card right, this small voice in my head was like, "Since you're going to get a discount, why not just buy the book? It'll be super worth it y'know. After the 20% discount the book is only $15! Not bad! Buy la" So yea I ended up buying the book.

While I wouldn't call this incident Divine Intervention, I'm gonna say it was pretty close to that. Whatever it is, I started reading the book. The tales were really chilling, especially those of the Pontianak stories. I started becoming really afraid coz of how realistic the stories were and how it seemed that everything around me was liable to land me into a case of possession or something to that extent. I was super afraid and after about 10 tales I gave up and refused to continue reading anymore stories. The author, however, had a very reassuring tone of voice. He kept saying how it was important not to have fear of the otherworldly beings and to have a strong faith and how a strong aura can help prevent possessions etc.. Then i started to get even more creeped out coz I was freaking SCARED then I was like "SHIT! I'm scared!! My aura is weak!!" Wahahahahah a bit silly arh! haha

So anws I decided immediately to go and read the back where he had a few articles about "What is an aura" and "How to prevent possessions" and "What is a ghost/spirit?" etc... Reading it gave me a HUGE reassurance. Also, a story about his encounter with a pontianak also helped in guiding me towards this new outlook I have. In the story, a pontianak was clawing at his door so he started meditating, filling his head with thoughts of LOVE for the pontianak, because he understood that it was just a tortured soul looking for revenge after a horrific death.. And though the pontianak didn't completely go away (it still lurked by his house)it cldn't harm him or his family because of the love that protected them.

A combination of this and a lot of other stories made me realize just how powerful LOVE is. It's not romantic love or sexual love. It's the LOVE that God has for us. It's the compassion for all living beings regardless of who they are or what they look like, smell like, say or do. This revelation dispelled all my fears at once. I was so repentant all of a sudden, that in that instant I saw what I had been doing wrong. In not speaking ill of others, I was simply holding my tongue, justifying what others had done so that I could forgive them. However, the way the Lord wants it, the way Jesus did for us, was totally different. He loved us regardless of all our sins, regardless of what we did or did not do. THIS is the love that is all-powerful. This love can make one become so much better a person. And it is this love, that made the Lord die on the cross for our sins, even those who turned their backs on him, who betrayed him.

And when I thought about Jesus dying to save the souls of even Judas Iscariot, the betrayer, I felt so ashamed. Here I was being all troubled and upset about people betraying me and not wanting to have anything to do with them when Christ Himself embraced them and died for them (in such a horrific manner) so that the Lord would forgive them and redeem their souls. I was suddenly moved to tears all over again by the Crucifixion. I felt so unworthy of Christ's love again, but He has given me another chance again. By showing me what LOVE could do, Christ showed me that all I needed was to Love these people, Love all my friends and family. Love all those I 'hate'. Love the people who harm be, betray me, upset me etc. Wish them well sincerely. This is true generosity of spirit.

Immediately after reading those articles and having this revelation, I prayed to the Lord, asking Him to constantly remind me of the selfless, all-encompassing Love that I had found. And ever since then, Life has been very different for me. Buoyed by this Love, I've been seeing many things in a new light. Gone is my resentment and doubt. Whenever I feel resentful against someone, God steps in and fills me with love, and with some difficulty, I find the space in my heart to overlook everything the person has done and love that person well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a good life i'm living now =) All that said, I hope that you guys won't speak ill of anyone to me le ok? It will be a temptation haha and I wanna steer clear of that. Though I'm quite sure I'll be pretty safe, I still don't really wanna hear mean things about people, alrighty?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today was tong's performance thingy at muchuan =) She dedicated a song to me and made me cry ='( Here are the lyrics:

My gawd it's like the story of our friendship la! Hehes. I was v touched =) Title of the song is 一个像夏天一个像秋天... I love it =D

Tong and I have been friends vvvv looong.. Been through many quarrels, many changes of character and lifestyle... Stuck through all of it =) Though sometimes tong makes me feel doubtful or hurt (she's tactless one la haha)... I can still feel how important she views me as a friend... Sometimes when I hear about her talking about me behind my back, I feel v hurt, but it all washes away because I know in the end, she'll be there for me just like I will be there for her! I understand the importance of our friendship to her and just like the song, sometimes I scold her for doing some things wrong... But that will be it and bygones will be bygones =)

What I really wanna say to you (tong) is that you've come a long way (time to use simple english here.. hehe) and I'm very very proud of you =) You've achieved what you've always wanted and I am so so happy for you. And I'm very sure you'll do well and become very successful =) Be more confident and sure of yourself. Love yourself (not too much) and keep improving! Like the song said, "你了解我所有得意的东西, 才常泼我冷水怕我忘形".. Hope you understand why sometimes I'm not very very fully in support of your events or what, but i'm sure you know that's coz I need to be the one thinking of the worst case scenario for you just in case! =)

I remember once on our way to dinner/supper in gary's lorry, and we were enjoying the wind and laughing and screaming along the roads, I was like "就是这种感觉嘛。。 朋友就是这样。。" and you wholeheartedly agreed. But quietly agreed. You don't say much, but you say enough =)

我是夏天, 你是秋天, 但我们过的每一天都是春天!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Merry Christmas Folks! And God bless y'all =) LOVE
