happiness is simple =)

haha. i had a really nice day today =) even though I cldn't spend it slacking away at home, i derived joy from other stuff today! lemme event blog abt today k!

at abt 10+am I met Siying at Fajar to bring her to my tuition kid's place - i just dropped him. really too freakin busy to continue with him la. So anyway, brought her up, intro-ed them then left her le.. Went to meet yvonne n bettina (HI BINA, YOU STYLEGODDESS YOU. hahaha) at yvonne's place after tt.. We talked business a bit, and chatted a bit too lol. Bettina's yvonne's primary sch classmate.. Yvonne's my pre-u sem friend. Get the link? haha. They're both fantastic ppl to talk to =) How cool it is that i can keep meeting new and lovely ppl still? Rocks la. So HELLO BINA! Hahahaha. After the "meeting" i took cab wit yvonne down to Toa Payoh HDB Hub there.. We discussed makeup to death during the ride lol. We arrived slightly before 12nn then she went for her appointment and I was supposed to go tong's hse.. Haha k at first ytd i asked tong if i could go down to her house to record some songs since I was free, then coz before tt I got tell her n jinglun tt i want him to record the morizhilian so i can put in my Ipod.. So she suggested tt we ask him to her house also.. Then i was like, ask Tai An also la! Then let's mj! Hahaha So tt's how the gathering was set up. And suyee ownself also wanted to go tong's hse to record songs for her friend, so yea. Haha.

So anyways, we were supposed to meet at 1230 (i thought meet at her hse but yuan2 lai2 is meet at the mrt station) so i hung around doing minor window shopping and then went to Popular to read books lol. Anw then met tong and we waited awhile then tai an arrived.. Then we went to have brunch at Ya Kun.. Talked a bit.. OH YAH! On er, Friday, i met Charmaine Loh from SC at the bus stop at my hse! Caught up on stuff abt ex-sc ppl like my darling darling Er Jie shishi! Heh. It was great chatting wit Charmaine =)

Ok then anw after our brunch we met Jinglun at the bus 28 berth then went to tong's hse le!! LOL and on the bus, tong and i were SUPER SUPER HIGH. Coz we were listening to super upbeat music. It was like super crazy, we were trying to groove to the music? Gosh! Then at tong's hse we played MJ for abt 2 hours (but we only completed half a full round!! haha coz lta is a newbie. so had to teach him.) Yours truly was overall winner lol =D but no worries, we don't play with real money=) Ok then we went upstairs to tong's room where jinglun proceeded to record 10 songs. No seriously la.. Think he recorded what, 3 songs? But he was like, chao enthu and brought damn a lot of discs. Ok then anw i tried to record angel but cannot sia. Voice CANNOT COME OUT. FLAT FLAT FLAT. HAha. Oh then suyee arrived at abt 4pm then me tai an n jinglun went downstairs to K a bit while suyee recorded her songs..

Then when they were done n finally came down we played UNO SLAM! And Taitee and Bridge! We had Delifrance croissants for dinner (thanks to tong's dad) and then after tt we ordered in Mac's while watching Campus Superstar! Haha there's no other ppl i'd rather be watching tt show wit than Esprimere ppl coz we all MAKE THE SAME COMMENTS AS THE JUDGES! Esp wit Wei Song and Xu Huan Liang! Hehe. Respect respect. We're getting damn good man!=)

Anyways, cabbed back home yup. Shuang shuang shuang day. I really enjoyed myself playing some good ol' games, getting some singing done.. Hanging wit my friends.. =D Oh yah was supposed to meet Huihua at 1030pm but haha stayed at tong's house till the show finished so cldn't meet her. Sorry babe!!

Btw, I've really gotta plug some sites now. First up: My Secret Closet (http://mysecretcloset.has.it) has a FREAKING NEW SERIES OF COLLECTIONS UP!!! Very very very nice. I especially like the Wednesday one and the Friday and Saturday ones look very promising =) Yayy. GO LOOK AT EM AND BUY B UY B UY lol. I'm like their most special member or sth =D

day before tt... slack at home day coz i cancelled tuitions..

these few days been staying home for dinner coz my mom screamed like crazy at me for not comin home for dinner and "staying out late" for quite a few days... grr whateverrr...

tuesday i finally picked up my spree purchases from the spree-er... then met maddy evy zhikai n shark at Minds Cafe for some really fun games =) the stupid snorta and I'M THE BOSS were really fun lololololol. then went to sch for lesson!! =) Esprimere singing lesson la. Oh yah esprimere's lessons have started again... and it's fun fun fun!! =)

Lol Yea... This time I sang Eng songs! Goodness. Felt so much more at home singing them =) Though was still super nervous when singing AMLT coz it's quite stressful. I've finally mastered the "growl". Hahaha yayyy. After tt was exhilarating bball wit esprimere ppl.. Oh YAH. Thanks to all people who showed up to support the concert, including new members - Dominic (Sentry duty! woot!), Ah Heng, Ratna, Wang Sha (no ye feng), Gerald, Bernard... Etc! We had a great audience turnout this time! Super happy =) Caroline (the head of non-sports clubs) came to us and said "Wah, this time improve a lot arh?" hahaha. Yay.

Yea.. Ok... that's all for today's blog entry.. Monday i met yvonne and bettina after hectic day of tuitions... Finally watched 3 movies - Ghost Rider, Protege and Night At The Museum! Hahaha I know, super old, but whatever, my ahgoukor lent me the movies and i had a heckuva time watching them... Mmmm~ My Daniel Wu~~~~ RRAWWWR! Hahahaha. Alrighty that was gross. haha no i'm not dead...

just been too too too stupendously busy. lots going on.. going out everywhere, doing everything etc. meeting up wit everyone =) it's awesome. But when u have so many things to blog abt that you'll mention about ten friends from different cliques in one day, you know you're really not that interested in blogging..

no seriously. too many friends/ too much going on in ur life can have that kinda effect on you. where every blog entry abt just ONE day can become a ten page essay. sian.

so no event blog! haha. just know tt i've done lots of online shopping again. sian. update you all nx time.

Grr. haha Spoil market leh.. 10 little known facts abt myself. you guys arh.. ok..

1) I'm a super sentimental person.. I'll keep things i don't need/don't want/don't like, just because someone special gave it to me... By "someone special" i mean people like my mom, dad, bro, granma, godma, relatives etc.. And some other special ppl like good friends, *ahem*special guy friends etc.. Haha..

2) Cherlynn ++ stairs | Cherlynn ++ air == accidents happen. I'm an utter klutz la. Oh wait. That's not a little known fact. Everyone knows it. But anw, it's just a weird fact ok. I can literally trip over air. Oh wells. Everyone's a little weird =)

3) I like programming. Javascript, C++, whatever. I just like computer programming and webdesigning, ok? Yea. It's not little known, but I suppose it can be considered weird.

4) I had a stupid TCHS period. It was a period of time where i liked a string of guys from The Chinese High School. Melvin la, the one before melvin la, my ex la... Before my ex also got la... Don't say already. It's super embarassing.

5) I wrote a series of stupid stupid fanfics.. Mostly based on Alec Su and Vicki Zhao etc.. And ppl like tong, mich etc were included in these fics! And I wld throw in BLUE as well, and pair myself up wit Lee Ryan. Wahahaha. So much for reality. Tong and Mich always went crazy for the fics. It was really fun =)

6) Erm.. Weird stuff... Must i keep it within the limits of NOT TMI? Haha. Coz the only things i can think of now involve personal hygiene... Wahahaha. Hmm. How abt, I get pretty uncomfortable watching ppl kiss on tv/in movies. Especially if it goes on for too long. Also, watching sex scenes. This kinda show can only watch with friends or alone. If with ppl I dunno (ie strangers) or my parents or relatives or what, I'll get SUPER uncomfortable and avert my eyes.. Yea..

7) I enjoy writing, but I can never finish a piece of prose. Yea.. I'll write like, chunks but never have I once completed a piece of prose. Only academic essays get completed. The rest, I just lose the drive, even though I know it can be super good if i finish it or what but I just can't. There's a whole pile of unfinished prose in my life's history, from the time I was P4 till now.. Yea.. I rmb my first attempt at a story - some silly story titled Tagebuah, the dunno dunno what girl la. Some girl who was dying of cancer.. Haha. Cool huh. I know. I rock.

8) I like to carry out "social experiments" for the heck of it. Many of you have fallen prey to my tests already.. Like my provocative msn nicks, my silly surveys, a lot of my small/big actions are actually me testing the reactions of the general public of my friends.. Haha. Yea I'm weird like that. =)

9) I suck at maths. No, really, I'm actually quite good at math. Plus-ing and minus-ing things quickly and multiplying and dividing them also v good. But tell me to do sth abt differentiation and normal distribution and vectors, you'll have me writhing in a pool of my own blood and vomit in no time.

10) It may not seem like it, but I'm FOR saving sex for marriage. Yea, torture and all that, but it's my religion la. Before converting i was all OK with sex before marriage. But now.. Haha. I see God's point ok haha. And one more little known thing. I have ABSOLUTE FAITH in God. He alone knows what is right for everyone and He alone will provide =) <3

don't feel like blogging coz i was in the process of making myself feel better =)

today was the quarter final round for BAS! I didn't make it through to the next round (TONG DID! =D), and no videos to post! haha sad right, coz LTA only bothered to help tong take. nv take for me. Good lor. Haha. Anw, yup. If you want me to explain/justify why I didn't make it in, I have several thousand reasons for you, but these are all not important. Haha. Excuses excuses. I know why can liao =)

What I really wanted to blog about was what happened after I didn't make it in. This part kinda links to something I wanted to blog abt awhile back... Well anw, after the thingy right, when I was in the cab on my way home, tong msged - "hey.. u go home and have a gd rest k? dun take tis competition too seriously..we all know tat u have a gd voice.. u were just too nervous. try again next time k! :)"

Haha. damn surprising to see something so nice from tong la. It's v rare! Lol. Though I'm kinda suspicious whether the msg really came from her or is someone else help her compose one.. Lol. But really, that was kinda what i needed =) I needed some validation and justification about myself, especially about the singing bit. The last time I wanted to blog about this was because i was getting more and more demoralized abt my singing on the whole. Haha. It's like, when I ask people for comments abt my performances or what right, (by people I mean the ppl who i ASK, typically sitong or tai an etc, ppl who have some experience..?) it's like as if i'm asking them "please pick out all the faults in my singing".

Not that I don't wanna hear the criticisms, but i mean, can there be some balance in the first place? All the feedback I'm getting makes me feel as if I should just shut up and stop singing. It's like, when ppl like val, siying and random strangers compliment me on my singing, i'll feel happy for awhile until like, i get the feedback from the other ppl (whom i ask) and I'll just feel super deflated etc.

Imagine la ok, you ask someone about how you did in a certain presentation or sth. Here are two examples, tell me which one makes u feel better:

A) Hmm i think you spoke too monotonously and it was quite boring for the readers lor. Must sometimes make eye contact.

B) Hmm, I think maybe you can improve on your expression coz sometimes come across a bit monotonous la, then try to make eye contact. But apart from that I think your pronunciation was damn good, and your points all made sense lor =)

Give me I'll choose B lor.

I mean, even when I was teaching in the sec sch and had to do the report book remarks abt my form class right, we had to talk about ONE good thing AND one bad thing lor.

Oh wells. Dunno why my friends think it's not necessary to compliment me. Thank goodness for ppl like ann and val, who'll say nice things. oh and arh ben, haha. Siying also, but usually for aspects like character, singing, etc haha. Ann val and arh ben do the " you look great today" or "you sounded really nice" etc thing.

Anyways, yes. I also know why my friends don't compliment me much.
A) not much to compliment abt
B) I don't respond well

Now, about part B - I really can't respond properly to compliments unless it's abt stuff I'd showed off abt in the first place. Yah. So don't over-compliment me, if you want to. Just a bit will do. But increasing frequency of compliments can definitely help improve my self esteem n confidence. Wahaha. Ok anw


So after the competition ppl came around to hug me etc. Lol. Oh yah, the contestants were fun to mix with =) Ok then anw val and I left first and had a bit of a chat in the cab =) Miss chatting wit ya!!!! Yay movie on Nat'l Day =) Can't wait

Yah so anw, i was really ok at first, coz just kinda relieved that the whole thing is over. To be honest, lol, i was already telling tong about a week before the thingy that I really wanted to just give up, it was so tiring. But anw, yah. Then I was so fucking busy the past week that I didn't have time to think abt anything but work - so no time to stress out abt competition. So this aftnn (thursday aftnn) after we finally finished our COM report in sch and I was making my way home, the stress attack hit me like nobody's business! It's like the stress that had been accumulating the whole week/month hit me like a bulldozer. Gosh.

Anyways, that aside, after val got off the cab, i got tong's msg, then was quite (ok la, VERY) touched lor. Coz tong has not, in at least 2 years, said anything nice about my voice. SERIOUSLY. So i was super shocked. Then was kinda choking up when arh ben called. Then the silly guy kept apologizing (IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!!!) and being nice and all.. Tell you, I really almost just cried there - if not for the fact tt my fake eyelashes would fall into my eyes, i would have just let the tears fall. Then arh ben decided he was going to start planning a "party" to celebrate the fact that I had gotten that far in the first place. Lol. Thanks ben. I'm looking forward to it! Haha.
