blogggg

ahh.. i'm starting to like blogging lol

anw, i just watched Bee Movie. IT'S GREAT =) Super nice. My kind of cartoon =) I love all the satire esp at the beginning =)

Event blog: For today - went out wit val to IMM and had a pedi done while she had a mani done! I quite love this place so i think i shall be back there soon! Hehe. Gonna do a paraffin wax mani nx! Yay. Val and I had lunch, and yummmmy dessert, and chatted a hell lot, which was great! Mini shopping and killer cramps also made appearances. Haha.

Then went to meet bina and yvonne and yufen for NC Meeting! =) And finalized some issues and stuff and yay! Have new deadlines etc. Hahas.

I just realized that I'm really quite capable of stuff just tt I needa be pushed to do it. SOOO.. I can actually finish a fic as long as I have someone to push me to do it! And I volunteer VAL for this! VAL! Wanna help me finish my first fic? The plan is easy. I've got to meet you every week with a new chapt ready as well as plans for the next chap! =) Of course at the first meeting I tell you the whole plot line and all. Whaddya think, bitch? I think it's perfect! And I could do the same for YOU and your fics!! WIN-WIN Situation!! YAYYY I'm suitably excited. Val say yes pls! Haha.

Alrighty anw apart from tt, hmm I think i spent New Year's Eve packing up my room =) Mainly my table la and it was just totally unplanned. I started off trying to pack one pile of books, then moved on to one drawer and in the end, totally cleared my desk and 3 of my 4 drawers and 1 of my desk cupboards! I feel totally accomplished. Ppl who've seen my table in all its messy glory will be pleased to see it now =) All neat and clear and all =) YAY. I love my table now!

Other events tt i have not yet blogged about: XMAS @ Mich's XMAS with fam Xmaseve wit fam, CampusReporter, and lots of stuff before tt! It's all lost because i didn't write everything down in my organizer =( Oh wells.. I rmb there was meeting up wit Bina, Val, some shopping, urgh... Can't think! It's too early in the morn!

Anyways, think I'm going clubbing nx Wed (090108)... Join us! Mich! It's MAMBO NIGHT! Hahas. But shui & I dun wanna mambo so we'll be trying to squeeze into PHUTURE. Hahas. Wanna come along let me know ok!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Charity work: I'm thinking of reading to kids at children's homes? And perhaps organizing trips? Anyone wanna help?

Gym: XYZ! Anytime! Starting in 2 days (coz i'm having my stupid period) ok! =) Msg me?

OH YAH. Forgot to blog abt how accomplished I've been feeling the past month (December).. Haha. Results were out and I did pretty well (again, except for freaking SOCI which i totally don't understand coz I did ok the entire sem)... 2As and 2A-s and stupid C+ or C- ( i can't rmb) for SOCI =(( Thank goodness it's not a comms mod. Anw i might wanna retake COM240 or COM101 to make my GPA better. Apparently it's the combined GPA of the COMMS mods that are taken into consideration (granted u already have min 2.7 GPA for everything) for Honors. I screwed up 2 comms mods so far - 101 and 240... So yea We'll see how i do for the rest first.

Yea then apart from tt, I've been feeling accomplished about WORK too! =) Putting up NC was really satisfying... As I've said, it's really coz of the meetings and all that gets me on my ass to do work and get the stuff up so yea =) YAY. And also, I'm proud of myself for a lot of other work that's been done, AND not overspending during Dec (until the Xmas season, during which I just blew out damn lots of money on gifts haha)

So yea, I really wanna repeat my performance. Here's a jiayou to myself! =) Hehe.

Can't wait to see you guys soon =)

OH PS: Some additional awards:

Most Life Changing Event - LASIK!!! (As I told val earlier, i can be a counsillor for ANYONE thinking of undergoing lasik =) If you need to know exactly what it's like, yea I can let you know. If you're afraid of the procedure, I'm the best person to approach coz I'm the most cowardly person I know and I can give you the insight PLUS know how u feel) Hahas ok enough advertising.

Ahhh!!! I had some more FRIEND-RELATED awards to add but urgh! Forgot! Brain-is-not-functioning! Grr.. Alrighty will go turn in now. Ciao ppl!!

continuing...

hey darlings!

i'm gonna continue with the awards =)

the addition of cable and the availability of shows through TV-VIDEO has made this a pretty good year tv-wise =)

TOP 10 TELEVISION PROGRAMMES of 2007

10) Princess Princess (Youtube) - ahhhh haha this japanese anime series was really good and utterly hilarious go find it on youtube! =)

9) The Ellen Show (Star) + The Oprah Show (Hallmark) - very amazing content on both these daytime television shows. I like Ellen's quirkiness and Oprah's power with the people and just all the kind of stuff they put on their shows =) The people they interviewed etc! I really liked the ones where Oprah showed the plastic surgery addicts, the rats of America with like the most filthy houses etc and also the corinne bailey rae one! As for ellen, pretty much every episode makes me feel really good. =)

8) Haunted Houses (Discovery) - This show checks out some of the haunted houses in America and finds out what the story is. Super my kinda show and super intriguing. Discovery keeps its usual style - making everything sound factual and all. Awesome. Loads of Discovery channel stuff was really good like the Flight Disasters ones, the Giant Structures ones.. yea haha

7) Hana Kimi (Channel U) - OMG you guys shd know how much I loved this show =) Utterly loved it. Fantastic cast and storyline hehe =)

6) Ugly Betty (Star) - Story about an ugly journalist? Man oh man, totally MY story! Hahaha. I love this show's plotline, and the bitches and all so hahas yea this show rocked =)

5) Ghost Whisperer (Ch5) - I LOOOOOOOOOVE this show!! Totally! The plot is gripping right now and I'm totally waiting for Season 3 to air!! Really really amazing. I like Supernatural too and sadly it didn't make the list but oh man, Ghost Whisperer was really really good =) Amazing stuff, amazing run!

4) CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY (AXN) - I love the whole series of CSI! Horatio, Grissom and i forgot the last guy's name haha but woooweee i love this show! And there's a lot of eyecandy too =) i love how all the stories unfold and how they eventually find out who the killer is etc ROCK ON! =D

3) Prison Break (TV-VIDEO) - I really really love this story and how it all develops etc.. However, the killing off of Sara Tancredi really just made the whole show suck for me. And putting Mike back into prison, especially at Sona. Just seems so weird. Oh wells. Let's hope they get better.. And they should really finish up the story soon. I am so NOT interested in finding out how he and 'Molly' like each other or who is gonna play Molly. I just want Sarah Wayne Callies back. Sigh.

2) HEROES ( TV-VIDEO) - LALALA totally WORTH THE WAIT. Season 2 rocks balls!!! =) I can't wait for it to get back and just GIVE US MORE PEOPLE!!!! RAWR. I really can't wait. This show is ROCKIN-AWESOME

1) FRIENDS (DVD) - Thanks to Vita for the DVDs!!! =) I really love this series =) Awesome, touching, hilarious every episode, emotive, just works! Totally LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOWW! =)

Gadget - My IPOD! =) Totally rock. But my new hp might kinda give my ipod a run for its money lol. Anything that can play music, show videos and pics is a good gadget in my book! =) BUT BUT My hp can also TAKE pics! And receive calls and msgs and all! lol.

Most Supportive Friend - Tough call b/w val, shui, arh ben, ann, tong, but anw, the winner is ANN!! =) Thanks for the support darling YOU ROCK =)

Tough choice between this, the resume, the 317proposal, the 231 report and the 337 Lit review.. But yea i really just feel this sense of accomplishment from putting together my Research Paper. It was titled "Dress in the Corporate World - How the way you dress can affect your chances at scaling the corporate ladder" Awwww.. Really loved it. You guys can ask to read it haha. more than 10 pages altogether! =) Love it. And so much work went into it!! =)

it's that time again...

hey people!!

as we hurtle towards the beginning of the new year, let's take a little bit of time to recap and give thanks for what happened this past year of 2007! =) Here go the annual CherAwards! (Trying to make this a tradition and let's see if it works! hehe)

I'll start with all the non-friend-related stuff first so that it'll force you all to read them hahaha. Better read!

PS - these refer to things that i've watched/read/listened to IN 2007.. Doesn't mean they came out during 2007 k! hehe
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOP 10 SONGS OF 2007

10) Zhuan Shu Tian Shi (Tank) - mainly coz of Hana Kimi, this song tended to make me cry! Haha it's super sweet.

9) For the Love (Drew Sidora and Mario) - from Step Up the movie! This song is a really beautiful ballad that again, tugs at the heartstrings.

8) Say It Right (Nelly Furtado) - kind of a break out track for Ms Furtado I think! This song is really catchy and danceworthy! Along with this song i'd also give kudos to Maneater (which is really da BOMB) and Glow, and All Good Things (Come to an end)

7) Candyman (Christina Aguilera) - OMG utterly loved this track! Very sixties and bigband and all! I'm not good at identifying genres but I really love how this track sounds. It's not higher on the board coz of its difficulty to sing! The harmonies are OOOOHLALA~ Gosh you really gotta love Xtina haha. Her voice is utterly awesome!

6) Last Night (P. Diddy feat Keyshia Cole) - ahhhh this song.. Tough fight coz I wanted to put this song higher up but too bad coz.. well you'll see why later. Anw, i utterly love this song coz of it's beautiful drum rhythm. Dum ta ta dum ta ta dum ta dum dum etc. Super nice and super super "I-WANNA-GET-UP-AND-DANCE-AND-GO-CLUBBING-NOWWW" kind! I kept it on my ipod playlist for the longest time possible and it's my current hp ringtone. I really like this one! =)

5) Love Stoned + What Goes Around (Justin Timberlake) - reason why Last Night has to go below is coz JT is holdin the fort here at 5! He released quite a number of good songs this year, the most significant of which being What Goes Around, My Love and most recently i think, Love Stoned and Damn Girl. Love Stoned is a really really really nice track tell ya! And What Goes Around was just freaking great to listen to and sing to! As are My Love and Damn Girl =) Rockin' songs =)

4) Gimme More + Piece Of Me (Britney Spears) - this woman came back with a vengeance!! I really really like Piece of Me - damn catchy tune. And Gimme More was no 1 on the billboards for a reason. I like Britney's sort-of-new sound. Piece of Me is really really just so catchy and danceworthy =)

3) I Like You Just the Way You Are ( Timbaland ft Keri Hilson) - OOOH. New song but i so love this song! The chorus reheeeaaally rocks! It's awesomely catchy (is there nothing else I know how to say?) and I like Timbaland's tracks a LAWT.

2) Makes Me Wonder + Won't Go Home Without You (Maroon 5) - this band utterly amazed me this year! These 2 are wonderful tracks from a stellar album and i'm looking forward to more singles from them! M5've totally outdone themselves - and you thought She Will Be Loved and Sunday Morning were good, THINK AGAIN! haha. I'm expecting more from them man! And I especially love the MTVs. Gorgeous work. Plus, Adam Levine is YUMMM! Hehe

and drumrolll......

1) BE WITHOUT YOU (MARY J BLIGE) - one word - FANTASTIC. Mary J Blinge deserves her awards for this.

---------------------------

TOP 10 MUSIC ARTISTES for 2007

This list was relatively easier to compile, lol. Here goes:

10) Jay Chou - He keeps coming up with new stuff that is just so great to listen to. Too bad it wasn't anything too spectacular or he'd have placed way higher!

9) Show Luo Zhi Xiang / Jolin Tsai - I think Jolin came up with a great album chock full of danceworthy tracks earlier this year. Xiaozhu gets placed because he's a darned sleek dancer and apparently, darned hard worker. And I like his sense of humor lol.

8) Britney Spears - From what I've heard so far, her comeback album is pretty cool! Kudos for coming back with a BAM! If she could only clean up her act... haha

7) Fergie - I think fergie did a great job this year with lots of great songs (I loved them all though none of them were good enough on their own to make it into my top 10) I liked Fergalicious, Glamorous, the Make-Up Song (All that I got) and of course, Big Girls Don't Cry.. Being a BEP alumnus sure makes your music sound good huh. Hahas

6) Justin Timberlake - I've always like this guy's music. And this year has seen quite some of them! What Goes Around, My Love, Damn Girl, Love Stoned, Give It To Me (with Nelly F and Timbaland) and quite some more that I don't really remember. I poofed his entire LoveSounds/FutureSex album. It was pretty awesome =) He always has a keen sense of musical direction which is usually quite coherent in his albums. Pap-beating brought him down though. And Jessica Biel.

5) Rihanna - Oh this girl had it MAAAADE this year! Smash hit Umbrella and its weeks on the top of the billboards made it the reigning Summer Anthem of 2007 and placed it alongside the ranks of songs like Yeah! and Shake Ya Tail Feather etc! There's like, a magic song every year and Umbrella was THE song of 2007! Totally. Rihanna is a great girl too, nice character and all, from what I see on MTV.. And tracks like Shut Up and Drive and Unfaithful are pretty good too but not good enough to pull her up to the top 4 of my list...!

4) Gwen Stefani - Yeah her name was glaringly absent from my top 10 songs huh! That said, Gwen also had an amazing year, what with The Sweet Escape and Don't Get It Twisted as well as Early Winter. I also poofed her whole album and was rewarded with fantastic fantastic songs. I liked all of them, which is pretty rare when it comes to me and albums. Add to that the fact that her songs have VERY HIGH re-listening value..! Imagine listening to songs like Cool, Luxurious, Rich Girls etc again! You know you're just dying to sing all of em again!! Gwen Stefani is an awesome artiste with great music. So there!

3) Nelly Furtado - I must really applaud this lady. She managed to reinvent herself perfectly with a new sound and all. Maneater, Say It Right, All Good Things (Come to an end), Glow.. All are songs from a really amazing new album released this year and they're all really awesome! Good job on taking something different, new and foreign and making it WORK! *applauds*

2) Maroon 5 - I've got lots of love for this band. They wow-ed me with Makes Me Wonder, making me sit up and listen to them with this song, showing that they can do something different. While She Will Be Loved and Sunday Mornings and other tracks from Songs About Jane were really fantastic, Makes Me Wonder was just breathtakingly GOOOOD. Then the hubbub died down and all was kinda just forgotten. And who knows, I turn the channel to MTV one day and there goes Won't Go Home Without You - another song that just got into my head after just ONE listen! Very little songs do that, and Maroon 5 is proving they ain't just a one-album wonder. GO!!! (and yea Adam Levine is HAWT)

now drumrolllll......!!!

1) TIMBALAND - I have got SO MUCH respect for this guy. He remade Nelly Furtado, gave JT's tracks amazing arrangements, then brought the 2 together to give us a wonderful song Give It To Me. Then he went on to record I Like You Just The Way You Are with Keri Hilson, which was just another fantastic song. This year I found myself on the lookout for songs that had his name on it, and I just KNEW he was this year's Number 1 music artiste man. His arrangements really give an amazing edge to the music that makes it just super danceworthy and all. Yea ok enough gushing. Lol

Honorable mention: Chris Brown (Wall-to-Wall!), Leona Lewis (Bleeding Love!!!!), Gary Cao (beipan!), 5566 (SAM WANG!!!)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hahas. Ok. Will continue the CherAwards nx time! Tired and needa sleep!
