pounding headache now... grrr...

alright i last event blogged on Wed... Ok think I had a rather slack wed coz esl got cancelled last min so i didn't go down ta sch.. So all i did was have tuition i think.. Yepp... Thursday... Went to sch (was late for 337 dammit! coz i overslept coz wed night i pia-ed my reading summaries till late late) and had lessons.. Had lotsa 337 meetings.. Yea.. Then basic lesson at night for cca.. Then cca meeting.. Sian... Then went for dinner... Thought up name for our competition.. Yepp...

Friday was an ok day.. Went to sch for ESL.. After esl i happened to see tong n tai an outside some lt.. Hung wit em for a short while, then went to meet darryl to discuss our 883 thing.. Yayy funnily enough, just by being a finalist we both got the 500 in cash and 100 in T3 hampers le!! Wahaha goodness knows i need it. Wahaha =) Yayy am happy =) Then met suyee to pass her my timetable.. Then darryl and I saw Louis walking around sch so he joined us then we went table-hunting for awhile.. Then sat down and the guys tried to study.. We chatted for a bit, then I left to meet Greg(student!) at Yew Tee Mac's... Hahah we talked a LOT... Oh and this other student Li Hao also joined us.. Talked talked talked.. Yepps.. Then I left to have dinner at home! Slept early coz I was so exhausted.. Almost wanted to sleep at 10pm but went to watch Ghost Whisperer wit my momsy =) Even my dad knows my mom and I appreciate watching this show tgt - he called me out of my room at 10 to say "Your mommy is watching the ghost show already!" lol.

I slept right after the show.. Was so uber tired.. Slept till 2pm this aftnn.. Heh. Felt alright.. A bit sluggish.. My parents actually asked me ytd if I was free on Tuesday for dinner and well, my Tuesday's booked so nope.. I told them tt today was fine for dinner (coz I have plans for Sunday and Monday and Tuesday..) so yea.. They asked me if i wanted to join them in the afternoon to bring a client around, i declined and ended up watching the MUST SCREAM TV on Star for a few hours.. LOL. It was a SIMPSONS HALLOWEEN SPECIAL MARATHON. Lol. Was good. Super stupidly hilarious =) Mom made (instant)noodles for me with (fried)egg! YUMMM!

Alright then went to meet them at church for dinner.. Was expecting a dreary dinner having to entertain dad's client.. But it was ok all in all =) We had a nice dinner at Palm Beach at Boat Quay... After dinner we took a nice Riverboat ride around Boat Quay and Clarke Quay area.. I tell ya, it was like visiting another world =) Singapore River area is so gorgeous at night! Dad took a whole lotta crazy pics! Hahahaha. He's so enthu.. Dad's client (lucy) and I were really amused by him.. Haha oh yea Lucy said I'd make a great New Yorker and strongly encourages me to go work/study in NY.. Haha she'll be posted to Colorado soon i think.. Right now they're in Diego or sth.. Yea.. LOL. She thinks i'll make a good tour guide too. WAHAHAH. Man, ppl need to stop telling me this kinda stuff (about my speaking etc) coz I'll feel like I'm not good at anything else.

On a side note, tong thinks I should give up on singing. FEEDBACK PLS

Ok anyways, after d riverboat ride we walked around for a bit and then sent Lucy back to her hotel then went home.. I ended up having a pounding headache till now.. Grr..

Dad asked me what I wanted for my bday.. Haha! At that moment I realized I didn't know what I wanted! Actually, I didn't have anything i REALLLY wanted/needed! Haha. I was contemplating asking for a new lappie or printer or sth! But I've just come to a great idea! I'm gonna ask my dad to just pay for me to go rebond my hair and get a mani n pedi done =) Yayy. Will go do my hair tomorrow! Heh. Not sure abt my mom. Let her get me what she wants la!

Anw! I wanted to blog some stuff coz I want to put these things as my msn nick.. Haha. Look arh! "When your dreams turn to dust, it's time to vacuum" LOL =) Val says it's v tongue-in-cheek. I think so too! But i just thought it was funny but a bit melancholy at the same time heh. Ok great i can change my nick now *goes to change my nick* Alright! So anyways.. Lemme continue my event-blog! =) So Thursday I went to sch, had 337 in the morn, then we had our 337 grp meeting, then I had guitar performance! Argh i screwed up my songs! Siann =( I forgot the lyrics for all the songs I was performing.. Benjamin the guitarist was all like, shaking his head etc. Hahas. Then was doing cameo harmonization work for ppl hahahahas. By special request only!!! Lol. It was the first time performing for Louis and my ahbee so I feel it was really a good effort. First time already come n do unplugged.. These people are good man. Now i finally realize how difficult unplugged is.. Lol.

Alright then went for lunch then 231.. Had in-class writing assignment.. Then had basic lesson for cca.. Was another fruitful lesson, i feel =) Then a bunch of us went to KAP for dinner.. MeTongJLTaiAn attempted to practise our group song.. I Still Believe by GaryCao and YvonneHsu(?) yea.. Then chatted lots wit Lucas and Rinalldo about HORROR MOVIES! I tell ya, I'm psyched!! Utterly psyched! Finally found another buncha horror movie kakis!! YAYY! Somemore we all live in CCK!! =) Tell ya, GV Lot 1 will be my newest hangout man.. Even though I will keep running into students.. sian. Haha.

Anw, muchos thanks to Lucas for walking me home!!! That allowed me to take bus home instead of cabbing home (those of you who know abt my difficulties abt taking bus home at night will know what i'm talking abt -__-") We had another loooong chat lol. Man, I miss hanging around intellectual/angmoh-pai ppl.. Wahahaha! =)

Friday pia-ed to sch earlier to meet ashton.. Then surprisingly his ESL class ended late so i went in to look for him and take the chance to talk to nina.. Made small talk wit glenda while we were waiting for their class to be over.. Heh. GLENDA & NINA you guys rock! =) Ok so had small talk wit ashton after his lesson, then went for my ESL lesson.. Had mini oral presentation thing.. Thank goodness my RP is on the right track =) Yay! No major changes to be made! Haha I kinda love my research topic! Will let you all know abt it soon =)

Alright after ESL i headed down to Holland V Coffee Bean to meet my darling LSY! =) She was meeting a friend of hers... Shawn i think... Is that his name? I can't quite recall.. Anw, he's quite an interesting character.. Ohwells. Alright then xyz and I headed down to town for our facial!! =)) YAYYYY Haven't had my facial done in AGES!!! Wah when my aunt saw me she was like "Why your face so jia lat!?" Wahahahha I know man. Too damn long nv go le! After the shiokamama facial, I had my eyelashes permed again.. Then xyz and I went to have our oyster meesua and ji pa at Far East Shi Lin =) I bought my Starbucks java chip mocha frapp on the way there =) Wheee~ Then we cabbed back (DAMN EX SIAN!) Alright then went home! Lol

Today! Woke up semi-early for auditions lol.. Then met JL at dhoby gaut mrt, walked down to SMU, saw Lucas training wit the SMU choir, then went for auditions... GOT A FUCKING BIG SHOCK WHEN I SAW THE BLOODY (*&$% STAGE!! Knnbccb no one told me it was an open stage event. WTH. Then got super tense and nervous. So yea i did pretty badly.. Grr.. I changed my song at the last min to How Do I Live (originally intended to sing The Way It Is by Celine Dion.. But that song a bit too strong (i thought) so decided to sing Have You Ever by S Club instead and it was really good somemore, but too early in the morning for my vocals sian.. So in the end picked the safe song HDIL lor..) Anw.. I sang just one verse and one chorus (coz damn tired n disappointed wit myself) and then I stopped and said thanks.. Then the judges were quite surprised i think, then the judge who commented had this to say:

Judge: How do you feel about your performance just now?
Me: (looks nervous and shifty) Erm.. I could have done better......
Judge: Is this your first time onstage? Have you had prior experience in competitions? (the gist of his qn was sth to this extent la)
Me: Er yes... Some..
Judge: Have you won any singing competitions before?
Me: Er.. *thinks* Duet... (then remembers that tong&i didn't WIN duet superstars in 2006.. we were 2nd) No la got placing only..
Judge: ok..


THAT WAS IT! Omg i'm so ($*&%ed... Sigh. Anw then after JL and I finished our auditions we went over to PS... I went to buy the cake.. Then we went to Cafe Cartel to wait.. (JL was joining us coz I didn't tell him I had sth on frm after our solo audition to our grp audition lol. oops) Then shumina turned up.. Then Val arrived at PS and I led her on some weird "treasure hunt" while I finished up my letter for her lol.. Then she finally arrived then I went to meet QS to get the cake.. Then yea! Hahah we celeb-ed Val's bday =) Lucas came down to join us for lunch too then when we sang bday song for val, me jl and lucas sang an impromptu harmonized version! So coooll =)

Kays then after tt jl lucas and I went back to smu (lucas drove and it took (%*&$ long to get a parking lot!) then there was v little time left to prac! Tong and I did our grp audition first and did quite ok.. We sang meilibennvren mah.. Quite a seasoned song liao lol.. Then the 4 of us one.. nv practise properly, very luan.. Our performance was SUPER CUI!!! OMG. SO SUPER THROW FACE =( I think they were saying sth to the extent tt 4 of us were all strong singers but each with our diff unique style.. So not a good grp combi. Sighs. Ohwells. Haha. At least we can hangout and sing tgt =)

After auditions, me tong tai an and lucas went for KTV at chevrons!=) K-ed for a few hours then Lucas sent me home le! Then family gathering!! =) Haven't seen everyone in agesss.. Talked abt my resume and cover letter wit Auntie Angie and Godma.. Hugged yangyang =) I love yangster! =)

so yea today had a mini celeb for maf (that's Mid Autumn Festival to the morons who dunno.. LOL (psst siying))

ok i've had a relatively good 3 days.. Post-project, everything just seems so much easier! Haha

Thursday after the presentation we continued having the rest of the lessons (almost died and didn't wanna go for 231 but went in the end..) Kevin McKelvey & the NBT person turned up for our presentation! Scary! (speaking of which, remind myself to email the nbt person) K anyways, think we did ok, a lotta ppl told us we did a good job, which was nice to hear =)

K then after all lessons, i went down to stage area to meetup wit esprimere ppl, we had our exco meeting, thrashed some things out... I think things went quite smoothly.. Hopefully we have less hiccups in future. Esprimere Exco GOGOGO! =)

Then was confidence boosting lesson.. Perhaps our worst session yet.. Maybe coz we did quite well for the prev 2 conf boosting sessions so this time around not so good in comparison.. Nevertheless, I hope it was a good experience for the juniors =)

Speaking of which, i've been looking at my juniors' friendster profile pages and have realized that they've become really good friends (and used my terms F4 and 7 Flowers to describe each other lol) and are testi-ing each other like crazy about singing and all =) so happy =) Nice to see the juniors enjoying themselves!! =D

alright then we had our usual dinner stuff (and mini ktv session onstage lol) after tt.. K then on to Friday! I overslept, so missed NTR and since ESL ended freaking early, i was too late to attend tt one too =( Anw, made it to sch for the exco budget meeting (consisting only of me marisa and ts)... Did our projected budget for next year.. Hopefully we get the sum we asked for!! (PS: we needa buy 4 mikes using the funds we got frm duet superstar!) Then after the meeting I met up wit my darlingest Li Siying!!! Hehehe. Darling lsy cancelled her tuition to pei2 me watch movie =) So i finally satisfied my movie craving... =) We met up at lot 1, bought some quick snacks then headed in to watch Chuck & Larry! Hee! Nice movie, that.. It's very pro-gay and has some really funny parts.. And has managed to stop me from disliking Jessica Biel. The woman is really quite hot, and comes across as very nice in the show.. =) so i suppose i don't oppose to her being with Justin Timberlake that much.

Enough bimbo talk! After the movie xyz and I had a nice chat over LJS and then we went our separate ways.. I went home while she headed to Tampines to meet her boyfriend.. Haha. Poor dear was stuck in the bus (omg i typed "stuck in the bust"!!! omg) for more than one and a half hours! Ok so anw i went home and can't rmb what i did.. But i know i was so shagged that i fell asleep around 8pm to 11pm... Then woke up to bathe and then had to wait for my hair to dry etc.. Haha.. Ok

Saturday... Oooh. I hung out at home till I went to meet val at IMM at 615pm! We had fish&co for dinner! yummmmmm~ Absolutely one of my favorite places for fish&chips, mushroom soup and their seafood platter rice! =) Ok anw, after dinner I realized I left my ticket at home, so msged Sam to leave me another one.. Then walked around for awhile and SMARTLY realized (if val hadn't asked, I wldn't have rmbed) that i had ZERO form of identification on me. Totally assumed I could waltz into Zouk without anyone caring. Hahas so val had to drive by my house, i ran in and got my ic and tic.. Then ran out and we took a fucking long and weird drive to Great World City.. Walked over to Zouk.. The people couldn't find the tix sam left for me so we had to buy one more (coz i had mine rmb?) Then went in...

A lotta cute guys! ahahahahahaha =) I was like "Woah cute (turn a corner) woah cuuuute! (turn another corner) oooh hot!" lol. Damn bimbo i know but woah! Cute guys galore! Hot ladies also la. Haha. Ordered an apricot brandy and ordered val a redwine (smartly forgetting that she was driving) and watched the beauties onstage. All were gorgeous but generally quite stiff looking.. Sam looked great =) I loved her walk and she had the "slut" look down pat.. Maybe coz of her eyebrows.. LOL but anyways, her evening-gown walk was really great and needless to say, she made it into Top 8! Heh then was the q&a round... I screamed like a rabid dog after she answered her qn (very well i might add) and the woman beside me gave me a really dirty look and wldn't accept my apologies.. So it was time to leave.. We headed down to Changi Airport where val had to see her friend Kozaw off.. He was leaving for the UK.. It was a really sad event.. Even an observer such as myself was close to tears! Sigh. I felt the sorriest for the girlfriend.. And she looks so sweet and all. Sigh sigh sigh.

Ohwells. Ok then sped back home. Haha. Made it just a min before midnight i think. SUrprisingly when I logged on, sam was online le! Haha. I suppose she finished early. Sadly enough she didn't make it into top 4, but i think she had done a fantastic job already. I'm so super proud of you sam!! =) <3

Ok! Today! My tuition kid cancelled tuition so I slacked around at home till i left for church at 445pm and did both the first n second readings today.. A visiting Australian priest was the celebrant today.. He was so tall that the mike at the podium cldn't reach his mouth even when it was stretched to full height. When the mike is stretched to full height right, it hovers above my head by a few cm.. So you get the idea.. Anyways. He was really nice and funny, came over and asked some cordial questions abt my lector-ing (before the service, of course) and my name and whether i was baptised in this church etc.. Then right, when giving communion, he shocked me by saying "Cherlynn, the body of Christ"... And I was so thrown off by this that i said "Thank you" instead of "Amen"!! Then I quickly mumbled "Amen" and put the communion in my mouth. LOL. The altar boy stared at me when I said "Thank You" la! So funny. ANyways, as usual, I felt a humongous sense of peace after releasing my burdens to God.. I loved today's hymns, especially Sing To The Mountains.. Thankfully it was the final hymn, so it rung around in my head for quite awhile... Heh.

Then went for gathering at Godma's house! Durian Mooncake, White lotus paste mooncake and yam thingy mooncake! I had a small slice of each! Woah nice! And there was fish curry for dinner! Whee~ Hehe

i am so certainly blogging more often lately =)

anyways, just a quick one before i go zzz! today was school, pia-ing project and then cca!

i'm super proud of CAMEP =) we finished up (sorta) our project today.. Many kudos to maddie for pia-ing the video, ann mad phy n evy for pia-ing the asiacentric part =) Really proud of you guys =)

CCA - basic lesson started at 5pm today.. I taught basic solfege and rhythm.. And basic warmup and techniques.. Yup. Then lesson started and was fun! =) Really big big groups of ppl.. And there's a buncha eng singers... Means i'll definitely be needed around le. Fun but stressful at the same time know!

SEMI FINALS IN A FEW HOURS!!! I'm super freaking excited =) I really like our semifinal song choice and performance. hehehehehehehehe. EXCITED EXCITED EXCITED! =)

today's semi finals consisted of 3 guy-girl pairs singing Ni Zui Zhen Gui and Tai An & Jinglun singing Bei Pan. Hahaha FUNNY. And i nv watch.. Had biz comm test! Haha. I like our biz comm lecturer. She really rocks. I like her extremely mobile eyebrows. =) OH OH. This year's Duet Superstars, a lot of gimmicky couples. Haha. The Monday pairs, ALL ENDED UP HOLDING HANDS. Talk about cliche! Haha. A lot of them are rather green i think, so their stage wasn't so good. Harmony and vocals - wise, everyone was a worthy competitor =) One couple today (Tues) sang a MalaycumEngcumChi version of Ni Zui Zhen Gui. Haha. Gimmicky right? Oh they're a Malaygirl and a Chiguy. yupyup. ohwells.

Tong and I quite gimmicky also, but in the sense that we're really working on our "stage" section. Coz our song choice allows us to show off our vocals very comfortably and harmony isn't really much of a problem la. I like it that both of us have strong voices/techniques so we're an equally matched pair..

Virtuoso auditions this Sat! Then going out with arh ben!!! ARH BEN! If you're reading this, you gotta tell me when u want me to meet u! I'll be at SMU! Which is in town. So if the restaurant you booked/reserved etc is in town then ok no prob but if it's elsewhere, MUST LET ME KNOW SOON K! =) And dress code! Hahaha. I'm gonna wear nice nice! =D

just some food for thought...

You know sometimes we keep wanting to be the BEST that y'know, we.. Ok i admit, i dunno what I'm talking about. Today took cab down to Hougang Mall to support tong n lta.. Then in the cab the uncle was like saying stuff etc.. Haha. Then he asked me what I was going down there for, so I said I was going to support my friend for a singing competition.. Then he was like, "Special Friend?" Then, not wanting him to get the wrong idea, i said, "Best friend la uncle." haha. Then he was like, "No no, cannot say BEST... Best means no more to go already... Just say special.." haha.

I think it was funny coz before tt we were also talking about something being the "best".. I think we were talking about the apparent "BEST" prata house or something.. Then we were like saying, if something is the BEST - it isn't good, coz there's nowhere for it to go but down.. This conversation led me to think hard about a lot of stuff.. And in relation to something I mentioned in my prev post - the thing abt my singing not having techniques. Haha. I suppose that's good in a way, because techniques can be learnt and I can thus keep improving... Meaning what I am now isn't my best, i've got room to grow. Kinda feel sad for the ppl who are already v good, like at their personal best, but still not y'know.. Good.. Haha. Dunno how to say.

Though I was feeling very irritated awhile back about the whole "techniques" thing. What TECHNIQUES???? My effing goodness if when you're singing all u can do is technique here technique there, I think it just defeats the purpose. I think singing is a channel of expression, a form of release... I think that so long as you don't crack your voice, go very off-pitch/rhythm etc... And your voice sounds good, that's about it. And the best is if your emotions come through. I suppose that's why I don't understand when people keep saying what, her technique is v good, his what what is v good. If they just say that without being specific, i'm sorry but to me, it's all just "air". I cannot understand that, so I can't "hear" whatever "technique" it is you're talking about. Haha.

Anyways, back to the uncle. So he was saying, cannot say anyone is your "Best friend" coz means they have nowhere to go. So I hereby proclaim that I have no best friend! Just a bunch of "special friends" hahaha. Yep.

Alright. Am tired. And was in a bad mood today so you will pardon me if i look/sound upset. BYE

haha. combination of vigorous diarrhoea and inability to eat much has helped me lose some weight. not visible to you guys yet but well, i've noticed. haha. tt's kinda some motivation to lose weight.

Murphy's Laws Of Combat

- If the enemy is in range, so are you.

- Incoming fire has the right of way.

- Don't look conspicuous, it draws fire.

- There is always a way.

- The easy way is always mined.

- Try to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo.

- Professionals are predictable, it's the amateurs that are dangerous.

- The enemy invariably attacks on two occasions: a. When you're ready for them. b. When you're not ready for them.

- Teamwork is essential, it gives them someone else to shoot at.

- If you can't remember, the claymore is pointed at you.

- The enemy diversion you have been ignoring will be the main attack.

- A "sucking chest wound" is natures way of telling you to slow down.

- If your attack is going well, you have walked into an ambush.

- Never draw fire, it irritates everyone around you.

- Anything you do can get you shot, including nothing.

- Make it tough enough for the enemy to get in and you won't be able to get out.

- Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself.

- If you are short of everything but the enemy, you are in a combat zone.

- When you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.

- Never forget that your weapon is made by the lowest bidder.

Too busy to event blog. School started for abt 2 weeks le.. Haha. This week my attendance has been much better =) Am Proud of myself and my alarm clocks! Thanks to val babe, siying darling and tong dear.. as well as my new Radio Clock =) HEHEHE. It belts out My Heart Will Go On every morn at 7am!!! HAhahahahahaha =D

Anyways... Been so deprived of sleep lately... Coz of my stupid hair and all.. Need to wait for it to dry coz I really can't sleep wit my hair wet or even slightly damp la. Yea. Anw.. Today was the confidence boosting session! FUN FUN FUN!

Dunno why I always feel so high during performances etc.. Heheehe. I think i just enjoy sitting on the floor, cheering my friends on.. Ultimately I always get very HIGH. hahahha. It's really quite fun. Good exercise for my fat arms too! Wahahaha.


Okok i know my singing got no technique ok? I'm just a Voice. Fine. I also don't like to biao1 all the high songs anymore. Don't ask me to biao1 already ok. From now on I falsetto all the way. I see it in your eyes and your faces.

PMSY!!! Haha. But high high high. I've been listening to Dui De Ren and Zhu Wo Sheng Ri Kuai Le on loop.. Haha VVV NICE =) I really really like Zhuwoshengrikuaile a lot.. And i think i can sing it well. But tong thinks the song Dui De Ren is more suitable for me. Err... Darryl also leh. Why do u all keep wanting me to biao, and then look so disgusted when I do?!?!?!? It's really quite contradictory and uber-confusing. ARGH.


Ok nvm. Recently I've just been singing and singing =) Puts me in a really good mood. Haha. CAME ought to know. I'm really singing non-stop... Even humming under my breath during lessons!!! HAhaha. I think the lack of sleep is getting to me. I need SLEEEP!!!

Work (wit Bina and Yvonne) has been cool!! But I really understand that I need to commit more time to work. Hai. I will try i swear! It's just, again, too many impt committments! Look:

In no order of priority whatsoever
1) Church (lector duties almost everyweek haha)
2) Esprimere Exco (dunno why the work is like non-stop haha)
3) Work! (but i enjoy this one =) i also enjoy the above few la! but i getting paid to enjoy this one mah)
4) Work - Tuition (ok this one is really damn sian)
5) Schoolwork - Hwk, projects etc.. I know this shd really be my TOP priority.. haha
6) Family - my parents tend to complain after they don't see me for about a week. Sigh. Which happens quite often..
7) Friends - got to meet up with them la! DUH! Haha but this happens less often nowadays.. =( My friends understand I'm too damn busy. AND! I'm really sorry dajie n erjie!!! I forgot abt tml's appointment... Can't make it.. Coz of my NEXT commitment -
8) Competitions - Upcoming is Duet Superstar(we got into semis) and then got Virtuoso! Sighsigh. Haha. Very taxing sia

Still got more la.. But not as important as the above that I've listed.. Sigh sigh! Haha. Ohwells. Now u understand why I look haggard?!?!?! Sigh sigh. And I've ZERO TIME for self-indulgence. I can't even do my hair mask or facial anymore!!! =( And I had a menses-related breakout about a week ago =( SIGH!
